The recent resignations (foreign lecturers) from KKUIC all relate to the FALSE accusation of Harassment made by Aj Kanakorn (Pao) against Pete Masters, Michael Cooke, and Paul Hughes.
This situation led the foreign lecturers to consider the very real possibility that more, FALSE, accusations could be made against any foreign lecturer who dared question Dean La_arosi’s management decisions. If the accusation involved Lese Majeste we may be put in a Thai jail. We were genuinely worried and therefore we had to resign and most of us have left or are leaving Thailand. Read on……
Aj Kanakorn wrote a letter to Dean Lar_orisi asking her for advice relating to the foreign lecturers being very unhappy about the trip to Korea arranged by the dean; and that we were making it obvious that we were very unhappy (see Letter 1 in Thai) https://drive.google.com/…/0Bwq5n-kSm_bOUEU2QW1KR19Ld…/view….
This was true. We were very unhappy that the dean invited Thai lecturers and staff only, and actually told them they must keep the trip a SECRET from the foreign lecturers (why??). The foreign lecturers believed that the 700,000 ++ baht (of student fees!!) the dean spent on this Thai only holiday would have been much better spent buying decent computers and a printer, that actually worked, for the foreign lecturers on the 8th floor. We, foreign lecturers, were told that this Thai only holiday was actually a “RESEARCH FIELD TRIP”. This was a LIE and everyone knew it, ask Chavis, Kate or any Thai lecturer if you can see this “research”, they cannot show you because it’s a lie. They told us that Goh (IT officer) was surveying Koreans in English???? Goh can’t speak English and neither can 98% of Koreans. But the Dean and others think all farangs are stupid and that we would believe this lie.

Next we were told that we MUST go to the President’s Building to be interrogated by Assoc. Dean Kate and a KKU lawyer. We asked for some information about why we must do this but we were told “It’s a SECRET” and we were not allowed to know anything about it!?!
Michael was the first to face questioning from Assoc. Dean Kate and the KKU lawyer. At the finish of his interrogation, Assoc. Dean Kate told Michael that she already knew the accusations were false but she had to continue with Pete and Paul anyway.

Pete made it obvious to Dr Kate and the KKU lawyer that these accusations were TOTALLY FALSE and that the process the dean, Kate and the KKU lawyer had followed was totally illegal (they did NOT follow Due Process) because they refused to provide us (the accused) with any information/details, before or during our interrogations. Letter 1 and Letter 2 only came into our possession because Pete snatched them from the KKU lawyer’s hand (literally). Again, listen to the recording.
We have never received an apology from Kanakorn , Kate and of course not the dean. The dean and Kate informed Michael a few months ago that “this matter is closed”. Well, Dean La_rosi, Assoc Dean Kate and Kanakorn we are telling you that the matter of falsely accusing foreigners and then refusing to acknowledge your mistake, relating to appallingly bad management decisions at the students expense is far from over.
I feel very, very sorry for all the KKUIC students because you are the ones that are suffering from this incompetent management (academically and financially).
I can say this now because I am no longer in Thailand.
