The PR supervisor reports to the manager of the PR department. The PR supervisor public relations functions both as part of the PR Team and as the person primarily responsible for a project. The PR supervisor is responsible for the assignment and monitoring of projects. His tasks include proofreading and reviewing documents and edit material for print and electronic publication. He also has to research and write material for print and electronic publication. He also has to create scripts, speeches, and presentations and coordinate the monitoring of social messaging sources and the approval process for the final copy for annual publications. The PR supervisor has to supervise the coordination of the weekly and monthly events, and the creation of ads in publications. The PR supervisor also has to create or update and supervise the implementation of tactical communications, the sourcing, ordering, maintenance of inventory list, and review of invoices. Finally, the PR supervisor has to review time sheets and participate in the performance planning and coaching of public relations/communication staff.
