In order to clarify the coincidence phenomenon of homodischarge
location in the usage of VMD electrode, an
additional group of experiments were carried out. Here, a 6-
μm-thickness PE film was attached to the high-voltage
electrode. Therefore, a void between two dielectric surfaces
was formed, which was called VTD electrode. The residual
charges generated by discharges occurring in this void could
accumulate at the upper and lower interface. However, the
surface charge distribution at two interfaces could not be
obtained at the same time. This paper only listed the
experimental result at lower interface, as Figure 5 showing the
variation of PD location in the usage of VTD electrode when
applied voltage cycle was 20 ms.
