Many entrepreneurs assume, "If I succeeded at this volume, I'll do twice or three times as well attwo or three times this volume." At some point in the growth of every enterprise, however, theorganization must change; it must become more sophisticated. At these junctures more authoritymust be delegated, more complex systems and procedures will be required, and moresophisticated people may be needed to handle them. Most entrepreneur, founders seem toinstinctively follow a command and control strategy, however, as an organization expandsdelegation is required and some command and control must be given up. Some founders havegreat difficulty with that. It would be easier if these changes evolved slowly over a growth period because they would be easier for the contractor to digest. But this is not usually how it works because you can't hire half of a person or put in half of a new system in place so these changes come is hard to absorb portions.
