3. Results and discussion
3.1. Mesoporous adsorbent
N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms of the pure SBA and en-SBA are compared in Fig. 2. Two isotherms show the hysteresis loop type IV due to mesoporous structure. Surface areas for SBA and en-SBA are 788 and 250 m2 g−1, respectively. As expected for organic-functiona-lized material, the BET surface area, BJH pore sizes and pore volumes decrease relative to unfunctionalized SBA-15. The BJH pore radius values are 31 and 27 Å, respectively. The BET compared to the starting material, the surface area and pore volume in product decreased by about 30%.
