People who break call themselves B-boy/B-girl also known as break boy or break girl and many other names. The Freshest Kids by Israel demonstrates that breaking started out in the Bronx like every other elements of hip hop. It is consisted of acrobatic, funk style dancing, capoeira, martial arts and many other types of dancing combined. The term “breaking” came from people who were dancing to break beats that DJ Kool Herc would play at his block parties. Breaking is a dynamic style of dancing; it was a way to express people’s aggression on the dance floor instead of using their fist.
