Samui puts aside bomb fears to celebrate Songkran
Investigations are continuing into Friday's car bomb explosion in the basement car park of Central Festival Samui.
Deputy government spokesman Maj Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd continues to insist the bombing was motivated by anti-coup political sentiment though the police seem less sure.
On the tourist island itself, however, attention was squarely on the Songkran festival as Central Festival reopened for business. From there, as if nothing amiss had happened, a big parade kicked off the holiday period.
