Glucose and glucono-δ-lactone inhibited BGL competitively, with inhibition constants (Ki) of 1.7 mM and 0.1 mM, respectively, thereby indicating that glucose is a stronger inhibitor of BGL from Phoma sp. KCTC11825BP than glucono-δ-lactone, as is the case with other cellulolytic fungi [8, 12].
These results demonstrated that the BGL from Phoma sp. KCTC11825BP could best be classified as an aryl-BGL with cellobiase activity.
