The story features the Little Tramp, Chaplin's famous character' who is trying to survive in the modern industrialized world.
The film shows the Little Tramp working in a factory on an assembly line that never seems to shop. A feeding machine gives
him food while he continues tightening the bolts on a moving belt. The Little Tramp can't stand the monotony----doing the same thing over and over---- and suffers mental breakdown. He's taken to the hospital, and soon recovers. But he can't avoid getting into trouble again.
