Performance of biocomposite is however equivalent to thermoplastic PLA. PLA–DSF biocomposite also can be produced at a reasonable cost of manufacturing owing to lower consumption of expensive biodegradable PLA. About 30 wt% PLA can be replaced by pre-treated DSF as the impact strength, flexural modulus and thermal properties were found at par to the unreinforced PLA. Therefore, optimization and further development of durian skin composite are essential for viable application of PLA–DSF biocomposite.
