1. INTRODUCTION
The AMD Bobcat x86 microprocessor is a low-power, small area,
fully-synthesized core with custom data arrays and a 512KB L2
cache, fabricated on the TSMC 40nm node [1][2][3][4]. The core
design targets for small-form factor and low-power applications;
therefore, a crucial feature of the core is an architectural and
physical sleep-state to reduce sub-threshold leakage current when
idle.
