Effects of DLM intoxication as well as protective effects of allicin
supplementation on hepatic, renal and gills non-enzymatic antioxidant;
GSH level was presented in Table 2. Liver, kidney and gills
GSH level was significantly (Pr0.05) reduced by DLM intoxication
(about 63.03%, 64.92% and 68.81%, respectively) compared to the
control group. Allicin at dose concentration of 1 g/kg significantly
(Pr0.05) reversed this reduction in all examined tissues (about
151.92%, 145.17% and 148.33%, respectively) compared to the DLMintoxicated
group, while allicin at dose concentration of 0.5 g/kg
induced non-significant increase in GSH level in hepatic and renal
tissues and a significant (Pr0.05) enhancement at gills′ tissue
(about 138.84%) compared to DLM-intoxicated group.
