The exercise consisted of lifting a weight with the dominant arm and performing the second diagonal of the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation technique.11 This diagonal movement started from the contralateral side over the iliac crest, followed by flexion, abduction, and external rotation of the arm with shoulder and fist flexion. Two-minute bouts of exercise with a one-minute resting interval were repeated until exhaustion.
