The final part of the chapter described the issues underlying changes in postdoctoral education and credentialing. First, we explained why accreditation of postdoctoral residences has emerged. Second, we described how modern technology can address long-standing concerns about the quality of continuing education in psychology. Finally, we described both some old and new issues underlying various kinds of licensing and professional credentials in psychology. The chapter concluded with a challenge for the coming generation of counseling psychologists to help attain the vision of "seamless" credentialing within the profession of psychology.
