Figure 5 presents schematically the relationships between the human and mechanical components of the LVMP. Operationally, the mechanical equipment to be managed are the fume hoods and ventilated chemical storage cabinets as well as the general ventilation system that, in many buildings, are metered for occupancy patterns, temperature fluctuations, and sash usage.These elements are managed by a variety of stakeholders, who are sorted into four groups based on their roles and responsibilities relative to the ventilation system and by how the LVMP will track their laboratory ventilation activities.
