An exploratory study into the reaction path of the oxidation of copper sulfide was carried out by performing experiments using the TGA. A copper sulfide sample of a known weightwas brought in the TGA and was gradually heated to a
temperature of 740 ◦C in an oxygen containing atmosphere.The intermediate products formed during the oxidation of
copper sulfide were analyzed using the method described by Ganguly and Mukherjee [7]. Fig. 6 represents the mass of
the sample and the temperature in the TGA during the experiment
