Ashura
The 10th of the Muslim month of Muharram, the Muslim community festival of Ashura.
This festival seems to originate in the Jewish Day of Atonement, we celebrated the 10th day of Tishrei: Ten saying 'Achra. At this festival, the High Priest offered a sin offering for the remission of sins, while the people itself was the Sabbath and fasting.
Initially, the Prophet Muhammad adopted the 24-hour fast for his community and mandatory surrendered. But later, when was organized the first Muslim community and the Ramadan fasting was instituted as a distinctive sign, the obligation to observe Ashura was suppressed. She became a voluntary 24-hour fast, a sunset to another.
Popular traditions, based on the Hadith of the Prophet, found it a new meaning she had lost.
Some traditions consider Ashura as the anniversary of the day when Adam met Eve for the first time after the expulsion from Paradise others like the day Noah left the ark.
The rite itself varies from place to place, but many continue to observe a fast on that day.
In Mecca, the Kaaba, normally closed, opened on the day of Ashura and visitors can enter.
In Iran, Ashura is commemorated by the Tazieh, a theatrical genre which replays the killing of Imam Hussein.

Tazieh to Takieh Dowlat next to the Golestan Palace in Tehran at the end of the nineteenth century.
In North Africa, the habit has not kept so fast but alms to the poor ('Ashura being interpreted by some as the 10th income), visiting cemeteries and care of family graves .
En Tunisia Ashura also commemorates the martyrdom of the Prophet grandchildren son, Hassan and Hussein, died assassinated in 61 AH, 10 Muharram, according to a tradition. This is a day when we remember the dead: it is customary to go to visit the dead and light candles at the tomb of the patron saint of the cemetery.
In some places, the night before, children make great fires (fire sign of purification) over which they pop singing. In the region of Gabes, they visit the houses with a small reed, called Ashura, the adults fill with candy and money.
In Morocco, Ashura is seen for centuries, such as Children's Day, family and traditions.
