The previous studies indicated that the secure inclusion rate was of 5 or 10 % LLM in the laying hen diets, which elicited satisfactory laying performance, while using higher levels (15 or 20% LLM) caused a severe reduction in food intake, which adversely affected the egg production in laying hens or growth performance in growing pullets and chicks (Labadan 1969, Vohra et al. 1972, D’Mello and Thomas 1978 and Mutayoba et al. 2003).
