iI. Culture notes
The Icehotel is situated in the village of Jukkasjarvi. The beds are made of blocks of ice covered in reindeer skins. The hotel also has warm accommodation and they suggest that guests have a night or two in the ice hotel and a few nights in normal rooms. The idea started when a French artist held an exhibition in a specially made igloo. Some tourists decided to sleep in the igloo and were so excited by the experience that the idea of an ice hotel grew.
