The physical and chemical soil properties to compare soil properties in Dry Dipterocarp Forest (DDF) and
Bamboo Forest (BF) in Phu Hin Jomtat forest park, Udon Thani province were studied. The soil properties
of both forests such as moisture, pH, organic matter, total nitrogen, available phosphorus and exchangeable
potassium were investigated. The samples were surveyed and collected 3 times between April – July 2014
and the results found that the physical and chemical soil properties in BF including soil moisture, the soil
pH, organic matter and exchangeable potassium were higher than those in DDF except total nitrogen and
available phosphorus were less than those in DDF
