in this work. After the second stage of the acid hydrolysis, the reaction
was stopped and the reaction medium was cooled down in an
ice bath, and finally filtered to collect the acid hydrolysate. The collected
acid hydrolysate was neutralized with calcium hydroxide to
a neutral pH of 6–8. To separate the neutralized acid hydrolysate
from gypsum, it was filtered using a 1G3 glass filter (Iwaki, Japan).
