Direct Torque Control is one of the most famous
researches to improve the performance of ac drive. Over
the past year, many researchers and several technique
strategies to overcome the problem occurred by using the
conventional inverter. However, most of the methods
proposed for DTC drive is introduced the complexity and
burden algorithm for microprocessors. This paper had
shown the most effective yet simple control method of
Direct Torque Control with employing 3- level Cascaded
H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter with proposed a block
modification for DTC induction machine drives. The
performance of the proposed system has been verified
using the simulation Simulink Matlab. From the
simulation result, by utilizing 3-level CHMI with
proposed method it can produce lower rate of change of
voltage dv/dt and obtain the constant switching frequency
for any condition of speed motor. Therefore, CHMI is
very significant improvement to achieve the dynamic
transient of motor drive as well as stabilize the switching
selection and also to limit the high harmonic or distortion
at current and voltage.
