Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen. Let me introduce myself, I'm Chaninath Chaoyong NO.31, and I'm Nuchanart Kaewduangta NO.39, In my presentation today we are going to explain Thai culture and Traditional Thai dessert,
Ok. Thai culture and Traditional Thai dessert have relationship for a long time. When I think about local Thai dessert, the frist one in my mind is Banana with sticky rice also called Khao-tom-mat. The Khao-tom-mat is one of my favorite thai dessert and The Khao-tom-mat is made by Thai people to give to monks during a festival called Tuk-bath-tae-wo. Actually, I guess. I know it because The Khao-tom-mat is made by my mother at the begining Buddhist lent. (Khao-phan-sa-day and Ok-phan-sa-day) it's also given to relatives during the festival.
And another one my favorite kind of Thai dessert, that is Stuffed Dough Pyramid or Kha-nom-tian. and Kha-nom-tian is home-made with coconut, rice-flour and sugar a drop of rice-wine is an optional refinement, I successfully experimented with. It's a communal activity before one of the many festivities in the local temple.
Kha-nom-tian it probably doesn't look like your typical dessert, but thai people do eat this as sneaks, Unlike the Grated coconut pudding or Kha-nom-sai-sai is on a more savoury more note with mung bean as the main body on the inside and with pumpkin paste and rice flour wrapping around it, giving the outside a natural yellow-organge colour. This is the one of thai dessert. You should try once or you wouldn't know, if this is a future favorite you may come to love!
