Global Challenges Programme
Feed the world, protect the future, live well: they're Lincoln University's causes; a response to the global challenges facing the planet today.
Challenges such as climate change, food production and security, depleting resources, urban sprawl, the loss of biodiversity, and pollution.
But we're also taking our causes into the schools and community; to engage these groups in the global challenges, and take them with us on the journey to solving them. Because the global challenges are complex; there's no one size fits all; everyone needs to be involved; and there's too much at stake to ignore them.
The programme
The Global Challenges Programme is a nationwide project, designed to have a positive effect on students and the community.
It will draw on the content of Lincoln University courses and research, and specifically align them with secondary school curricula.
Through outreach activities and events, the programme will extend into the community; engaging a wide-range of groups with local-level activity aimed at helping solve the global challenges.
The scholarships
Underpinning the Global Challenges Programme are the Global Challenges Scholarships – full tuition fee scholarships each year for 'new to Lincoln' students to participate in the programme.
The Global Challenges Scholars will act as ambassadors of the Global Challenges Programme by actively contributing across all aspects of the programme to help make its impact real and tangible.
