3.1. Organ distribution of RSIV DNA
In both yearling and fingerling rock bream, RSIV
DNAwas not found by primary PCR, but was detected in
all fish by nested-PCR (Fig. 1). The frequency of RSIV
DNA detection in each organ is shown in Table 1. RSIV
DNA in asymptomatic yearling rock bream was predominantly
detected in heart, stomach, intestine, muscle,
eye and gill. Although RSIV DNA was also detected in
liver, kidney, spleen, brain and peripheral blood leucocytes
(PBLC), the frequency was 1 or 2 of 5 fish examined.
In fingerling rock bream, similar to asymptomatic
1-yr-old rock bream, the frequencies of RSIV DNA
