RE: UPDATES TO GLOBAL CAPACITY ANALYSIS REPORT TRAINING, FORM, and SUPPLIER CAPACITY PLANNER CERTIFICATION
As Ford continues to maximize its efficiency and production levels in our plants, it is more important than ever that capacity planning and verification be accurately measured and communicated.
To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of supplier capacity planning and reporting, Ford is pleased to announce the update of the capacity analysis report (CAR) training, Capacity Analysis Report, and the implementation of supplier Capacity Planner certification. These updates strengthen and clarify Ford’s capacity analysis requirements. Updates include:
Strengthen linkage between Capacity analysis and Capacity reporting in the Ford Capacity Systems
Emphasizing the importance of Sub-supplier capacity verification, changeover times, and Robust Shared Loading analysis
Key updates to the Capacity Analysis Report (CAR) Version 5.0:
Eliminated all macros to improve functionality;
Allows Tier 1 Supplier use of the CAR to analyze sub-supplier capacity
Added separate shared loading plans for each process
Emphasized use of both surrogate and historical data for capacity planning
Updated Predicted Good Parts per Week to indicate the Supplier’s Purchased Part Commitment (PPC) values
Supplier Certification
Implementing supplier Capacity Planner certification process to ensure that only trained supplier representatives complete the Capacity Analysis Reports
Require Capacity Planner registration in Ford Global Capacity Planning (GCP/MCPV) systems
Deployment and Next Steps
The Capacity Analysis Report ver 5.0 and User Guide will be available for use beginning April2014throughthe Ford Supplier Portal https://web.qpr.ford.com/sta/Phased_PPAP.html
The web-based Capacity Planner training and assessment will be available in April. Training is accessible through Ford Supplier Portal.

Completion of supplier Capacity Planner certification is required by Oct 1, 2014. See attached Capacity Planner Certification and Registration Instructions. Use of CAR ver 5.0is required after successful completion of training and Capacity Planner certification.
