The terms "transnational" and "borderless corporation" describe a multinational corporation. While headquartered in one country, these types of business have a global reach, with offices and production facilities in multiple countries. The benefits of being a multinational include a larger customer base and the ability to capitalize on national competencies, both of which theoretically result in lower prices for the consumer. However, many believe that transnational businesses are bad overall and should be more heavily regulated.
