TENTH STORY: SPECTATOR SPORTS If you don't actually play a sport, when you're not busy playing a sport yourself, there's lots of spectator sports to from in Vancouver. During the Winter, professional hockey and basketball attracts a lot of people. Late Summer and Autumn offer professional football. During Summer itself, you can watch some soccer at Swanguard Stadium, or baseball at Vancouver's historic Nat Bailey Stadium. If you like your sports loud, then don't miss the Indy Car Race on Labor Day weekend, at the beginning of September. Even if you're on a limited budget, there's lots of free sporting events that you can relax and watch about town. Competitive beach- volleyball is always a great show. Adolescent sports leagues have teenagers playing their hearts out at ball parks in the Summer, and at hockey rinks in the winter. So get out there and cheer someone on!
