distances and the surrounding media. A variation in the biological
material and metal salt concentration is known to influence NP
synthesis (Pimprikar et al., 2009). Fig. 1 shows the UV–vis spectra
of the nanoparticles obtained on varying the ASPE concentrations.
The particles synthesized with 2% ASPE concentration gave a plasmon
resonance band at 410 nm. On increasing the concentration to
10% max increased to 420 nm. The slight variations in max values
signify changes in particle size owing to changing concentration
of ASPE extract. The control solutions of ASPE or AgNO3 neither
developed the characteristic yellow colors nor did they display the
characteristic peaks. These results indicated that abiotic reduction
of AgNO3 did not occur under the reaction conditions that were
used.
