A group of vocational college students being humiliated during hazing on a beach was captured on camera and has gone viral on social media.
A video and photos, posted on Monday by Facebook user PangPondSiamGear, show seven or eight shirtless young men transferring food to each other mouth to mouth, and a senior student spraying flames between a freshman's legs. Wounds can be seen on some of the students' bodies.
The Facebook user wrote that people who are "blindly optimistic" should not watch the video and photos.
On Tuesday, the post was deleted after it went viral and received a barrage of negative comments.
A Facebook user whose comment had the highest number of likes wrote: "It is not about being blindly optimistic. Hazing activities should not have gone this far. If you have children, would you send them to study here? I feel for the future of Thai students. Other countries have progressed, but we still stick to the old ways. I feel for the freshmen receiving this undeserved karma."
