After completing the lecture, Callie allows students to talk in pairs and
then with the whole class about what they learned and what they liked
best about the lesson. As a way to help students practice and build interdisciplinary connections, Callie asks students to use their sentence
garden organizers to create five sentences about different people they
would find in their communities.
