Perceived risk. Integrating research interviews and previous literature, financial,
performance, physical (Jacoby & Kaplan, 1972) and time/convenience (Roselius, 1971)
risk, were applied in this study. A total of 13 items were developed to measure perceived
risks of housing in a combined manner without separating probabilities and consequences,
as many researchers have done previously (e.g. Jacoby & Kaplan, 1972). For example,
‘I was afraid that there were quality flaws of the house’.
