Who get’s the credit for an achievement? (You or your whole family/group?)
We all have ambition and a desire to achieve certain things.
Low context people view themselves as the reason for achieving something and although they may give credit to other people for their help (think of the speeches at the Oscars) they believe that they are the reason that a goal was reached.
High context people view the achievement as fulfilling the expectations of the group, reaffirming that what the group believes is right and that success will increase a family’s reputation.
