Several studies reporting the success of somatic
embryogenesis in palm trees from different explants were
successfully developed principally using the auxin 2,4-D
(Teixeira et al. 1993; Eke et al. 2005; Othmani et al. 2009).
However, picloram has also been used frequently in
somatic embryogenesis protocols for the palm. In studies
carried out by Moura et al. (2009), the most suitable SE
germination were achieved using picloram, however, these
authors reported that in the regeneration medium few
completed germination.
