The richness of polypores found in this study in the endemism
centres (86 in Guiana, 102 in Xingu, 91 in Rond^onia, 153 in total) is
relatively similar to the richness found by Gibertoni et al. (2007),
who identified 107 polypore species among 88 samples in transects
of different sizes in 13 reserves in Atlantic Rain Forest in Brazil, and
by Gibertoni (2008), who identified 96 species among 24 samples
in transects of the same size in Brazilian Amazonia.
