There is no report of data in the literature comparing these fat sources e palm oil, a natural
vegetal source of saturated fat, rich in C16:0; partially hydroge-
nated fat, which contains trans fatty acids; and interesterified fat,
with high amounts of C16:0 and 18:2n-6 e which are used in
several industrialized and processed food products and, thus, are
highly available for human consumption, including women in
reproductive age.
