I had wanted to avoid writing anything, but I guess I can't dodge any longer. I enjoy drinking a glass of red wine as I'm cooking, listening to old music with a beat to it - Sinatra etc.
I'm pretty blessed that I live next to a place with such great hiking/camping, although Scotland is my Mecca for those things. I've always wanted to take a really long trip overland, and keep a journal. Old school, just ink on paper with sketches.
I enjoy Jazz and Blues music, something you can snap your fingers along to and tap the wheel to as you're driving along. Although I must admit a guilty pleasure of mine, when giving my nieces and nephews a ride to somewhere, is to play truly awful pop music, wind down the window and proceed to sing along, as loudly and as out of key as possible. Parents take note, this is a great way to discipline unruly children. Especially when done as you're on the approach to their school, little ******* angels they do become there after ;)
Erm what else. I have a voracious appetite for books, though I'm not a literary snob in the slightest. I'll read trashy horror novels or high brow Russian literature alike.
I'm a country boy at heart though I grew up in the suburbs. Fishing, hunting, camping, hiking. I've worked on farms for a few years. Then again I've also worked front of house in 5 star hotels too. Multi-faceted is what I am. If I were a piece of cutlery, I'd be a spork.
If I can't sleep I'll sit at my dining room table and take something apart, meticulously. Usually something electrical or mechanical, occasionally a clock. I'll line up all the parts and sigh a contented sigh... Then I'll put it all back together. Honestly it's a brilliant form of meditation.
