The effects of plants, microorganisms and soil adsorption in
phosphorus removal were studied by setting up the following
experiments: soil þ domestic wastewater, plant þ soil þ domestic
wastewater, sterile soil þ domestic wastewater, and domestic
wastewater alone. The wastewater samples were collected
on day 0, 1, 3, and 5 of the experiment and the remaining
phosphorus in the solution was analyzed. The percent of phosphorus
removal by plants, microorganisms, and soil adsorption in
the systems were determined and calculated according to Torit
et al. (2012).
