CD24was identified as a cluster of differentiation markers of hematopoietic
lineages. It has subsequently been found to be overexpressed in
various malignant tumors and to be associated with the metastatic phenotype
[24]. The human cell surface antigen CD24 is a glycoprotein that
is anchored to the cell surface by a GPI linkage and is a ligand for Pselectin
on tumor cells [25].
