The information in this leaflet comes from IDB (Injuries Data Base), which is an injury recording system operated by the Epidemiological Centre of the National Board of Health and Welfare. The statistics apply for the period from 2003 to 2007. IDB collects more detailed data on injuries from a number of hospital emergency departments in Sweden, covering about 7 % of the country’s population. These figures are then weighted, using population data, to produce a national estimate.
