Denzil Moodley is a Principal Scientist in the Fischer–Tropsch Catalysis and Engineering Research department at Sasol Technology R&D in Sasolburg. He completed his honors in chemistry at the University of Natal in 2000. He joined Sasol in 2001 and worked in the area of hydrocarbon transformation involving mainly heterogeneous olefin metathesis as well as alcohol dehydration catalysis. He completed his Masters degree (part time) at the Potchefstroom University of Christian Higher Education. In 2004, he moved into the area of cobalt Fischer–Tropsch research and was later seconded to the group of Prof. Hans Niemantsverdriet at Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands where he completed his PhD in 2008. His main focus areas are cobalt catalyst deactivation and regeneration.
