This study presents a simulation model of a PV/T system, as well
as the simulation and experimental test results. The results were
compared with numerical simulation data. System orientation and
tilt angle of the heat pipe PV/T collector were optimized. The
following conclusions were drawn.
(1) The tank volume is found to be inversely proportional to
temperature increase, and a small volume results in low
overall power generation efficiency.
(2) The optimal tank volume for maximizing heat collection and
power generation can be determined to be 80 L within the
range of this study, with the maximum overall efficiency of
the system of 67.50%.
(3) The average annual power generation efficiency of the PV/T
system is 15.69%, with an annual output of 1062.77 MJ/year.
The annual average collection efficiency is 34.37% and heat
collection is 2328.16 MJ/year.
