The complex viscosity as a function of frequency is shown in Fig. 6. Also, the complex viscosity at a constant frequency of 9 rad s−1 is shown in Fig. 7. The viscosity decreased with increasing frequency or shear rate (i.e., shear-thinning behavior). Furthermore, at a given frequency or shear rate, the TPV without the compatibilizer showed a lower complex viscosity than those of the TPVs with compatibilizers. This is a result of a lower compatibility and interfacial interaction between the phases. This type of TPV showed larger vulcanized rubber domains but a lower viscosity was observed.
