ConclusionTobacco dust is an effective molluscicide. Concentrations of dustthat eliminate ramshorn snails did not compromise channel catfish. Therefore, tobacco dust applied in aquaculture could be an effec-tive strategy for controlling parasitic trematodes by eliminating thehost organism such as ramshorn snails. More specifically, a dose of0.5 to 1.0 g/L tobacco dust was effective in killing 100% of the snailswithin three days while not killing any catfish. Lastly, flue-curedand burley dust were more potent compared to truck burley andtruck flue-cured.
