4. Conclusions
Measuring the soluble solids content proved to be a rapid and
reliable technique to determine the progress and completion of
the fermentation process. Although henequen leaf juice must be
supplemented with other sources of carbohydrates, the amount
of juice produced by the fiber industry would justify its use in
the production of ethanol for industry. This is more so if it is taken
into account that the Tequila industry produces even greater quantities
of A. tequilana Weber leaves, which at present, are not processed
