Archived statistical data on organizations and leaders is limited in the Caribbean.
This study contributes to building a reservoir of resources providing a frame of reference,
current and future, for multinational companies and companies that manage businesses in
the area. The leader’s culture, value systems, and beliefs will drive the behavior and
actions of the leader and this will extend to the followers (Munley, 2011). Nguyen and
Mohamed (2011) postulated that congruence of leadership style and the culture in which
the organization is operating in ensures that there are rapid and appropriate responses to
external factors affecting the business. When the leader and the organization values are
similar, the leader would be more effective and relevant. A culture that shapes how a
leader is able to influence followers and lead them to achieving beyond their own
expectations (Nguyen & Mohamed, 2011).
