Fertility
According to the 2005 Population and Housing Census [1], the population has grown by 2.5% per year and the fertility rate is 4.5 children per woman. Despite high fertility, the 2005 Health Survey [3] showed that almost 38% of reproductive-aged women have not given birth; 70% of younger women (15=24) were childless. For women above 30, the proportion of childlessness was 9%. For women of reproductive age, the most common number of children was 1 to 4 children, while those who had more than 4 children constituted about 17% of all reproductive women.
