The waste feed collector in a recirculating aquaculture system combined with the count method saved time, labor, and there fore was cost-effective compared to the traditional weigh method. The value of FCR by our method was lower than the value calculated from weigh method, though not significantly. The pellets were similar in shape and weight, and the water stability allowed the pellets to maintain their structure and original shape, ensuring the viability of the count method. Although we used sinking pellets in this study this study, floating pellets could be used with a similar feeding procedure by using a net to collect the uneaten pellets directly from the water surface.
