Nurse factors
In relation to individual characteristics, several nurses in
the study have a warm personality and effective communication
skills, and function well in the role of supporter.
They demonstrate caring, empathy and understanding for
clients and their families, and have the ability to build
trusting relationships.

Professional ability and psychiatric nursing knowledge and
skills have a definite effect on the quality of mental health
home-visiting services. The results showed that the HHNs
have more confidence about their nursing roles and functions
than the PHNs.

In relation to positive achievement, the HHNs noted
several common factors: being trusted by clients and
families, helping clients to take their medication regularly,
improved symptoms, helping the client’s condition
to stabilize, improvement in interaction between
clients and families, and helping clients to find suitable
