5.2. Discriminant validity
Discriminant validity of each SVO second-order factor can be achieved if the fit of the hypothesized three-factor model is significantly better than the fits of one-factor and two-factor models. As illustrated in Table 2, the model fit with three-factor model for each facet improved significantly from two- or one-factor model. Further discriminant validity was assessed with a chi-square difference test. The three-factor model of each second-order factor explained the observed data set better than the other models, with the lowest chi-squares and statistically significant delta chi squares.
